Where do you Work? Exploring 10 G+ Users Work Spaces

gplusworkspaces

A lot can be learned just from looking at one’s work environment. From the technology they use, to their ergonomics and the types of things they keep around them.

Last week I asked my followers on Google+ to share their workspace with me to be featured in a post. Take a look at the pictures below.

Do you have an epic work space setup? Are there things that you think everyone should have on their desk or in their work space? Is there anything that you wish you had on your desk, technology or analog? Leave a comment below.

Also, be sure to interact with the users that were kind enough to share their photos. A link to each of their Google+ pages is included in the description of each picture below.

"A few days ago I showed you my travel setup and it generated some nice discussion:

Now here's my home office setup. Three monitors connected to a single Windows 7 machine, with the tablet off to the right (though I don't use it much while I'm at my desk).

The interesting thing about it is when I have clients over. Their initial reaction is "_Whoa -- I couldn't work with so much going on at once!_". After we spend a few minutes working (comparing WordPress templates, looking at logos, etc), it changes to "_Whoa -- I need more monitors at home!_". :)

So that leads to my questions:

1 -- How many monitors do you typically work with?
2 -- If money/space were no object, how many would you have?"

"+Peter McDermott is collecting photos of workstations for a post.

Here's mine. The fridge, desk, wooden piece on top of the desk, animal lamp, and Return of the Jedi lunchbox were all salvaged from Freecycle, or the trash. It's mind boggling what people throw away.

If you're not already a member, go to www.freecycle.org and sign up to donate (and receive) people's unwanted stuff. Save stuff from the dump and give it a good home."

How did you know? I love looking at photos of other people’s workspaces!

My belief is, since we spend more *waking* time at our work stations than anywhere else, they should really be optimally efficient — while also expressing who we are as individuals.

By the way, here is a 37-second video of *my* desk!

I like the last one because it has 6 screens, which I would love to have. My little work station is made up of my laptop computer loaded with the newest version of Ubuntu, a Vizio TV, and my little wooden desk. Very simple but it gets the job done :D
